About

Come and Stay at our Campsite.

Cherry Orchard Campsite is a small, simple, rustic, traditional campsite situated on the very edge of the English/Welsh border.  The 2.5 acre field is surrounded by beautiful walks in glorious woodlands, with a huge array of bird & wildlife and welcomes those wishing to discover and enjoy the famous Wye Valley, Royal Forest of Dean and experience nature at its best.

For the active, the site is a perfect location for Walkers (especially those walking the Offas Dyke Path), Climbers, Cavers or for those coming to ride MTB Bikes at the local bike park (Pedalabikeaway/Cannop Cycle Centre).  Road and Motor Bikers will also benefit to our close location to the Wye Valley roads, as will those wanting to Kayak, Canoe or Paddleboard on the River Wye.

The towns of Monmouth and Coleford are nearby (both 10 mins away) so getting provisions can be easy.  There is also a village shop in the nearby village of Redbrook that stocks a plentiful selection of general groceries, alcohol & locally produced products.

The site is kept very simple and we try our very best to ensure that everyone has enough space.  We ask that you car share where possible and when here you park your vehicle considerably so as to avoid taking extra space needed for others.

For Campervans and Motorhomes we recommend you bring vehicle wedges in case you strive for levelling perfection.

Please note that we do NOT have EHU points.

Water points, Washing Up Area, 2 x Toilets, 1 x Warm Shower and 1 x Outdoor Cold Shower are available.  Please do not use water from the hot shower for washing up purposes.  Please heat your water via your camping stove.  We allow BBQ’s and Firepits, provided weather conditions permit, and that they are adequately raised from the ground (especially when using tin foil BBQ trays). Please ask at house for bricks to raise.

PLEASE accompany your children in washing up, toilet and shower areas at all times and PLEASE practice good camping etiquette.

We do insist that campsite rules and regulations are abided by, especially ask that noise levels are kept unobtrusive at all times, with a no noise restriction after 10.00 pm, so as not to upset other visitors.

(If you were hoping to sit out together until the early hours, this is not the campsite for you)

We do NOT accept large group bookings (ie max 2 families only), hen, stag, birthday parties or noisy sound systems!

**Please Take The Time To Read Our Campsite Rules Below**

There is no wifi in the field so whilst this sounds unnerving, this is the perfect opportunity to escape the rigors of life, have a techno detox, and have quality time together.  4G/phone signal can be located within a 10-15 min walk out of the site. Of course, if there is an emergency or a need to contact home/someone then you are more than welcome to come to the house and use our wifi/landline.  If needed we can recharge your mobile phones, and should you need help to keep chilled foods cold then we have a limited supply of ice packs for rotation.

We ask that visitors please use the appropriate/recycling litter bins provided and insist that you take all broken camping equipment home for refuse. (Please do not use us as your local refuse centre!)

Entry into the site is permissible between 11:00am and 9.00pm, or by previous arrangement.  We ask visitors to note that on the day of leaving you depart by 11:00am, or again by previous arrangement.

If on the day of your departure you would like to leave your car here for the day we do request a £5.00 parking fee.  This fee also applies to using the campsite utilities (ie, using the loos/shower having left your vehicle here for the day and before heading off for home), AND if you have any friends from the locality visiting you during your stay.

As we are a small campsite we do provide a personal service and try our very best to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Duke of Edinburgh, Cadet and Scout/Guide groups are also welcomed.

Our Reviews

Beautiful

What a brilliant place this is. Can’t fault it at all. Immaculately clean with great amenities that are clearly well looked after. Great communication from the offset which made it even more of a welcoming place to stop for a night.

A tranquil little gem

We stopped 3 nights whilst cycling in the area and I can honestly say it is one of the best campsites we have stayed at. The owners are lovely, helpful and very friendly, there is a wonderful peaceful feeling to the site. Highly recommended!
